Icelandair Loftleidir, Air Bahama
and ONA Ron Preede /
Margareta Nisser

Overseas National Airways Flight Engineer
Ron Preede flew 4 months for Loftleidir
in 1978 in a DC10 - this proves to be the
DC10 that Air Bahama Flight Attendants
Chantal Stephany, Luxembourg, Judith Scott
Texas and Dolores Morgenroth, Nassau were
telling about. They flew with Loftleidir/
Air Bahama! Margareta Nisser of ONA flew
four months after ONA was closed down in
1978 on the same aircraft. She was an
instructor for the cabin crew flying
pilgrimage hadjs to Saudi for UACI,
follower to ONA. Lofteleidir used the DC10
for Nassau Bahamas departures.
Best regards from Ron Preede, ONA

AIR BAHAMA / ONA DC 10

Hello Air Bahama!
I too remember handling this DC10.
However, after the terrible AA
disaster in Chicago, the DC10's
were grounded for awhile by the
FAA. It was a worldwide grounding,
which was later reverted to US
only, but in mid flight from LUX
to NAS, LL decided to divert to
REK and ground the a/c !!

Beginning of big problems at LL,
and IAB.
