Nassau, Bahamas 1978
International Air Bahama celebrated its 10th anniversary with an evening
cocktail reception given by the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism.
Shown are many of the IAB staff members from Miami, Nassau
and New York who attended the commemorative reception.
IAB 10th anniversary was celebrated at the Balmoral Hotel, Cable Beach,
which was also called The Royal Bahamian and now Sandals.

December 2, 2005 A smashing quintet of Air Bahama stewardesses! Anneke Hoffman, Sarah Rolle, Jani Van As, Diane Grant-Wildgoose and probably Pamela Jacobs, photo courtesy Yvonne Shaw. Yvonne was with Bahamasair until recently, as she is now semi-retired. She was initially Manager of Inflight Services and Catering and appointed shortly afterwards to Manager of crew Planning & Scheduling utilizing the modern electronic software for handling aircraft/crew/company regulations and Union regulation as well as IATA/FAA/ and local CAA. Yvonne was also in charge of writing the company manuals in addition to the regular duties. Yvonne Shaw can look back with the contentment of having had a successful professional career! Yvonne is now working part-time as a proof reader with one of Nassau´s local newspapers The Bahama Journal. She is also active and on the Board of Directors with the local environmental association - The Bahamas National Pride and has just been elected "Chairman" of The Bahamas Golf Federation Southern Ladies Division for the next 2 years.

No. 1 at Ocean Club On October 8th, they organized the 2nd Jan Pyfrom Golf Classic at Ocean Club Paradise Island It rained for 5 hours during the tournament but not enough to close the course so they had to play through. Yvonne won the Senior Ladies First Net and therefore her Name is on the Floating Trophy and she got a beautiful Movado Watch as 1st Net Prize. Yvonne´s daughter Marie now has 5 kids, the youngest "Joy Grace" is just 14 months old and is a beauty and of course rules the other siblings. This summer they all spent a lot of time visiting and enjoying the pool in Yvonne´s back garden. Yvonne´s Mom is now 87 yrs - still driving and doing 2 days volunteer work at the hospital and travelling. She will be going over to West Palm Beach to spend Thanksgiving with her niece. Yvone´s oldest daughter Renee lives in Abaco, at Hope Town. (That's one of the Bahamian islands) and is a chef- she caters to the tourists with wedding receptions and preparing their meals for their entire stay. Yvonne´s son Neil, is finally back from Bagdad all safe and sound and will be there (Virginia Beach) for the next two years. |

Petrina Lightbourne McPhee, Yvonne Shaw, Leo Antognoli owner of the Hotel Italia, overwhelmed by the roses they gave him as the wonderful Air Bahama Reunion in Luxembourg was going towards its end. Eva Jacobs and Anette Martins Englund on the other side of Leo. Blonde at very right is Georgette Frisch Kohn who did a marvellous job at the Reunion in tending to everybody´s needs. A sweet hostess! Georgette first worked in the Air Bahama town office in Luxembourg and then started flying. Georgette lives in Luxembourg and on the French riviera.

Bredewee Restaurant, Luxembourg Ville
This restaurant sitting on the verge of a tremendous downslope at the old Luxembourg armaments, is owned by Mr. Guy Poirot. The name of the restaurant is Breedewee ("Wideview" in Luxembourgisch!) the address is 9 rue Large and the phone number is 22 26 36 - in case you want to go there .... Gunnar Sigurdsson of Reykjavik, Iceland, Air Bahama Nassau Station Manager in 1969 and wife Doddy. One of their sons is a Loftleidir pilot. Margret Snorradottir Johnson who works at the Atlantic Hotel in Nassau and her companion David. Elisabeth Karlson at far end, Eva Jacobs and Roland Franberg and at very right Gunilla Hammar Safstrom of London England. What a magic day we had sightseeing in Luxembourg.
It was as tho we never left. It was as tho we´d been there all along ....
Angelina van Oortmarssen is still flying, now for KLM. Angelina lives in Holland. Margie Ave Torres is also in aviation, flying for Delta Airlines out of Atlanta and mostly doing Amsterdam and the US, holding a Dutch language position. Margie and Don live in Florida. Nicole Krettels Burnett, who married famed disc jockey Paul Burnett in Luxembourg, where Paul had his own show on the air. Paul is still busy as a successful radio man. Nicole is a licensed psycologist and they live in England. Gunilla Crawford (Kuylenstierna Kay) is also in aviation. She also flies for Delta, Gunilla Crawford lives in Florida. Eva Thiberg Jacobs now lives in Gothenburg Sweden but lived for many years with Jake in Florida. Now and then Eva works as a fashion model in Gothenburg. Eva is a fabolous dresser and also enjoys interior decorating a lot and has great taste. Anneke Hoffmann Placide lives in Holland and busies herself with interior decoration and does great artistic flower arrangements. Before flying with Air Bahama, Anneke worked as a fashion model in London, England. All those destinies! What a joy to reunite!
