AIR BAHAMA GORGEOUS
I moved to Bahamas World Airline,
that airline did chartered flights
through Africa, Europe, etc.
That was also a splendid experience
for me! Bahamas World Airline
stewards and stewardess trained
at Air Lingus. We stayed in Dublin
for one month of training, we had
thirty-two (32) in our group.
Jean Clive Pugh, Philip Nottage were
the two stewards, the stewardesses
that I can remember are Sheila,
Debbie, Sinah, Jackie & Cecile.
The group photo in color, some
standing and others sitting are
stewardesses of Bahamas Air.
I'm sitting second from right.
MAXINE NEELY CAREW
My name is Maxine Neely and I flew with
IAB in 1971.
It was a wonderful time working for IAB.
I don't remember all the cockpit crew
that I flew with but these are the names
that I do remember: Capt. Jake (loved to
impersonate Dean Martin - smile),
Engineer Brown, Capt. Don Torres.
The cabin crew: Daphne Kerr,
Frances Clarkson, Jacinta Fox,
Joan Armaly, Olive Rolle,
Petrina Lightbourne,Phyllis Brown,
Rogann Huyler, Ruthie Lightbourne,
Vanria Cargill, Gun Vidal,
Arlette Fabry and Vernica Ferguson.
I see the Bahamian girls now and again
and we reminisce about the flying days.
I did not stay very long with IAB,
only for the summer season.
Well.... the time is far behind me now,
forty years! I was married twice, I have
three children and six grandchildren.
My oldest daughter lives in Florida and
she has three girls. Her oldest is now
attending college and the second girl will
be attending college in the fall.
My second daughter lives here in Nassau
and she has two children, a girl, 15 yrs.
and a boy, 6 yrs. My last child is a boy
and he has a little girl who stays with me.
Hope to hear from you soon!
