![]() Time is really getting closer and closer now and temperatures in NAS are steady around 31 Centigrade! Thought you might like to know about the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism - Junkanoo Summer Festival, scroll down to the 'junkanoo festival'. Basically there's a street party every Friday with Junkanoo parades and art displays, then on Saturdays it's over to Arawak Cay (now known as 'Fish Fry"). THere it will be a Childrens Junkanoo Rushout with Indian Heritage-themed Junkanoo parades Music & Heritage Celebrations. Lots of cookouts and Bahamian artifacts on display for sale. Generally starts in the afternoon and untill... Sundays is more sedate with a Royal Tea Pary and Afternoon Jazz at Government House, but don't forget we already have a special invite there on Friday 14th. I am a SKAL member and there will be the usual second Thursday in the month meeting, venue as yet to be announced. I shall advise where and details when known. For all the above Summer Junkanoo events, a courtesy bus schedule has been announced and details can be found at the Ministry of Tourism desk in the arrivals hall after clearing Bahamas Immigration. Busses will be running frequently between Cable Beach Hotels to Woodes Rogers Wharf (downtown) Cable Beach to Arawak Cay and also from Paradise Island to both destinations. On Sundays the destination will be to Government House. Hope this is of interest and looking forward to seeing everyone in Nassau!Best Regards from Ian
