I do not actually have any connection
with International Air Bahama although
I live in the Bahamas and have flown
twice to Luxembourg in route to London
and it was a wonderful experience.

I wish International Air Bahama was still
flying today. As a Bahamian I have studied
the history of beauty contests in the Bahamas
as well as International contests like
Miss World. One thing I noticed was that
several stewardesses on International
Air Bahama were contestants in Miss Bahamas
and Miss Commonwealth Bahamas.

Most notably Frances Clarkson Aberle who won
Miss Commonwealth Bahamas in 1971.
During the 1971 contest the four other Runners-up
were given titles and the opportunity to
be Stewardesses with International Air Bahama.
One of the titles was Miss International Air
Bahama won by Emerald Green who also won
Miss Photogenic. Gaby Fajean the reigning
Miss Luxembourg Nation and reign Miss
Models International was flown into Nassau and
she crowned Miss International Air Bahama.

Ironically enough the Winner Frances Clarkson
who was at the time a Stewardess with International
Air Bahama had met Miss Luxembourg Nation a year
ago in Luxembourg. Gaby stayed a week in the Bahamas
at the British Colonial Hotel. Others who worked
for International Air Bahama were Donna Fernander
who was a contestant also in Miss Commonwealth
Bahamas 1971 and she later modeled in Europe.
Vernica Ferguson a Runner-up in Miss Bahamas
Jaycee 1966 the 1st contest held in the
Bahamas to pick a Rep for Miss World and then
she was also a Runner-up in Miss Bahamas
for Miss Universe.
